José Ciuha è considerato uno dei più importanti artisti sloveni contemporanei.
La sua produzione artistica si è avvalsa di tecniche molto varie, dall' acquarello al mosaico, all' arazzo, e in particolare ha utilizzato - come in quest' opera- la tecnica del fissaggio sotto vetro.
Delle opere di Ciuha è stato detto che transitano “dal fantasmatico al metamorfico, in una revèrie di lucide allegorie figurative”, in una continua osmosi tra astratto e figurativo.
