This painting presents a tranquil coastal view where textured cliffs rise above calm, reflective waters. A white lighthouse and red-roofed buildings perch on the rocky terrain, adding a quiet sense of place and timelessness. Inspired by Karen d’Angeac Mihm’s visit to Howth, it captures the peaceful spirit of the Irish coastline.

About the Artist
Artist Karen d'Angeac Mihm creates oil paintings that blend memories of her French upbringing with the serene beauty of the Midwest. "During the summer months, I set up outside and paint en plein air, and in winter, I work in my studio from photo references of recent travels that speak to me," says Karen. Born in Nice, France, she moved to the United States as a teenager and later left a career in corporate finance to stay home with her children. This transition led her to pursue art seriously, eventually studying at the Academy of Fine Art in Denmark, Wisconsin. She paints in her home studio, a bright second-floor space with three windows, high ceilings, and a view of the lake. When not painting, Karen enjoys morning exercise and spending time with her husband, two grown children, and their dog.
