Poster promoting KAWS's first museum show at New Mueseum NY in 2000 where a large number of these Companions were displayed.
The figure that started it all. The Bounty Hunter Real Mad Hectic Companion by KAWS created in 1999, was the first 3D Companion he ever produced when a trip to Tokyo led to the him to meet the renown Japanese brands Bounty Hunter and Real Mad Hectic. A hybrid of Mickey Mouse with the now infamous KAWS XX'd out eyes and skull, this Companion is the basis for KAWS's future Companion iterations.
