Violet Portal 72"X48" Contemporary Abstract Painting
Located in New York, NY
72"x48" acrylic and oil on canvas, signed on reverse by the artist. This is a contemporary abstract painting by the New York/ Hawaiian artist, Debra Drexler. Violet and blue hues are contrasted with neon orange and deep red orange forms. A circular form of violet attracts a central focus in the fields light orange and nearly pastel blue undertones in this stunning vibrant painting by the artist Debra Drexler's paintings are informed both by participating in the contemporary resurgence of abstraction coming out of New York, and by living in the Post Colonial Pacific for close to three decades. In the 21st century, much of our experience is mediated through the screens of our devices. In contrast, the making and viewing of paintings remains a direct, engaging experience in Drexler's paintings. She aims to take us to a state of timelessness that is primal in its humanity, disconnecting us momentarily from the mediated “now” of our electronic devices, and connecting us to a “now” that gives us a glimpse of the infinite. As a colorist, Debra Drexler provokes unexpected color relationships and creates spatial contradictions that come from those interactions. Some of her color choices reference the post digital experience with its highly saturated synthetic color. The luminosity and saturation also mirror the unique quality of light and tropical color interactions in Hawai’i, where Drexler also lives. Her work is driven by an athletic painting...

Hot pinks and tangerine orange intertwine in this gestural abstract painting by Debra Drexler. This painting is inspired by the intensity of light and colors in Hawaii, where the artist splits her time between there and New York City. Debra Drexler maintains studios in both New York and Oahu, and her work is informed by her unique bi-coastal experience. Her work translates the inner experience into outer form through a vigorous athletic painterly process. Drexler has had over 30 solo exhibits and over 100 group exhibitions at galleries and museums in New York, Hawai’i, Australia, Berlin and across the states. New York, NY. In 2017, her two-person exhibition was reviewed in Whitehot Magazine and Arte Fuse. Her most recent solo New York exhibits were at Van Der Plas Gallery in 2015 and 2017. His artworks have the potential to influence a new generation of artists, incorporating diversity and respect for varying cultures. Brown uses his interest in fashion as well as his knowledge of color, design, and culture as inspiration for his paintings. The loss of friends to violence and incarceration, combined with the loss of a family member to gang violence pushed Brown to use art as a source of therapy and to project a positive inspiring image for his community. Brown’s art coalesces youth culture, art history, fashion, and American consumerism and melds them all to create his unique style. Instantly relatable and recognizable, his cathartic paintings represent contemporary issues as well as a demographic that is traditionally underrepresented in fine art. His works speak to young Americans and inspire a whole new generation of art collectors and admirers. Since 2016, Daniel Brown...

"Symbiosis" Contemporary Large Scale Abstract Painting 60"x48"
Located in New York, NY
60"x 48" acrylic on canvas, signed on reverse by the artist. This is a contemporary abstract painting by the New York/ Hawaiian artist, Debra Drexler. Turquoise and violet raspberry colored forms reminiscent of Matisse cut outs, curl in a textural ground of brushed and poured paint. Drexler's process of composed shapes and fields of color are created with brushwork, poured glazes and and textural depth. This immersive and expressive painting is created with vibrant colors, which react beautifully with each other to create a rhythm of forms that is meditative and contemplative. Debra Drexler's paintings are informed both by participating in the contemporary resurgence of abstraction coming out of New York, and by living in the Post Colonial Pacific for close to three decades. "Aquatic Forest" Contemporary Large Scale Abstract Painting, violet, turquoise
Located in New York, NY
This is a large scale, contemporary abstract painting by the New York/ Hawaiian artist, Debra Drexler. Vertical elongated forms in rose pink, mauve, lavender and turquoise blue rise over a layered field of cream white brushed with violet. Washes of red and orange fade into hot pink in this vibrant abstract painting by the artist. You can see the influence of tropical colors in this canvas and a wistful yearning for the beach and the sea. Debra Drexler is an American painter, installation artist, curator and professor. Her work is informed both by participating in the contemporary resurgence of abstraction coming out of New York, and by living in the Post Colonial Pacific since 1992. She has participated in over thirty solo and over 100 group exhibitions in national and international venues including Front Room Gallery, Exit Art, The Drawing Center, White Box-The Annex, Art Finance Partners, Van Der Plas Gallery, Sideshow Gallery, and Denise Bibro Gallery in New York, as well The Honolulu Museum of Art and Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Debra Drexler's most recent work is highly experimental large-scale abstract painting. In a recent review of a two-person exhibition (Whitehot Magazine,2017) Drexler's work as clearly referencing the long tradition of American abstraction and the established legacy of the New York School. The reviewer, Jonathan Goodman, described the work as a “new non-objectivity” that comes out of the current moment. He states that Drexler's painting “quite accurately describes the spirit of abstract art today, in which painting is struggling to break free of the constraints of time." Debra Drexler frequently uses hot pink, a color with heavily gendered associations. Her hot pink brushstrokes...

A807 - Large Scale Soft Minimalist Contemporary Color Field Abstract Painting
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Marco Schmidli’s "A807" is a large captivating abstract painting that merges ethereal textures, atmospheric washes, and gestural marks in a soft yet dynamic composition. The interplay of deep crimson, soft blues, and neutral tones creates a weathered, almost celestial aesthetic, reminiscent of distressed frescoes or aged patina surfaces. This large-scale contemporary artwork exudes a sense of mystery and movement, making it a perfect statement piece for modern interiors seeking organic movements and meditative depth. Swiss born artist Marco Schmidli creates minimalist paintings with a contemporary edge. Placing emphasis on process, he lets the mediums naturally manifest within his artwork. “An important aspect of my artwork is the removal of my own artistic hand. Instead of controlling and demanding the paint move and act a certain way, I let the paint naturally manifest and express its pure form/ true colors/ most natural movement.” Schmidli's work is known for its sensitive surfaces and subtle textures. He has developed specialized techniques for applying and layering color, giving depth to his paintings. The textural nuances and expansive scale of "A807" evoke both intimacy and grandeur, making it a versatile statement piece for collectors seeking to transform their spaces. Its calming palette and layered abstract forms invite contemplation, imbuing any environment with elegance and depth. In "A807", a 96-inch tall by 72-inch wide abstract composition, Schmidli showcases his signature approach of letting the medium naturally manifest, creating an ethereal and evocative piece. Swirling purple tones juxtaposed against a soft, misty palette of blues, whites, and muted pastels give this artwork an atmospheric and meditative quality, reminiscent of color field studies with a contemporary edge. Schmidli studied photography and fine art in Switzerland and Rome. He worked as a photographer and painter in Zurich and then in 1989 he moved to California. In addition to fine art, Schmidli’s work has graced the film and entertainment industries, from fashion spreads to celebrity portraits, music videos, and red-carpet events. His paintings have been featured in iconic publications like Vogue, Flaunt, and Harper’s Bazaar, as well as campaigns for brands such as Nike and Balenciaga. Key Features: > Large-Scale Acrylic on Canvas: Measuring 96 x 72 inches, this artwork creates a commanding presence, suitable for vertical or horizontal display. > Frameless Elegance: The canvas is wired for easy hanging and does not require framing, allowing the painting’s textures and subtle details to take center stage. > Authenticity Guaranteed: Signed on the back of the canvas, with a certificate of authenticity provided by the gallery. > Convenient Delivery Options: Includes affordable local delivery within Los Angeles, across the U.S., and worldwide. My Beautiful Love - Impasto Thick Paint Original Heart Artwork
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Coulombe-Bégin's dynamic acrylic on canvas works seek to produce a metamorphic interpretation of the artist's inner identity. Her paintings make ample use of contrasting colors to create exuberance and energy in her images. Inspired by street art, Coulombe Bégin 's paintings range from the abstract to the surreal and employ a variety of techniques and materials. Her contemporary artworks draw inspiration from body image, the universally recognizable symbol of hearts, and the experience of humankind. She brings a sensitivity to her work that stems from her exploration of identity and the joy and happiness of existence. Coulombe-Bégin draws us into her internal world: exploring the soul and matter, conscience, and the modern universe. This original painting depicting one heart painted on a silver background measures 12 inches square. The thickly textured heart is applied with tactile brushwork. It is wired and ready to hang. The sides of this artwork are painted black and it does not require framing. Convenient local Los Angeles area shipping. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping also available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Coulombe-Bégin’s work portrays from colorful hearts to specific parts of the human body, especially large close-up portrayals of the mouth and eyes, which are depicted with great contrasts of color and chiaroscuro. These symbols are constructed with specific gestures and drippings in which Coulombe-Bégin expresses an abstract universe full of movement, symbolism, and eroticism. Born in Miami, Coulombe-Bégin grew up in Quebec City where she earned a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2006 from Laval University. Starting very young, her parents focused a great deal on both the arts and athletics which helped her develop her own mode of expression. “I am particularly interested in the fragmented corporal shell, which I emphasize through spontaneous movement and vivid colors.” stated Coulombe-Bégin. “My experience with painting has led me to see things differently, to self-discovery and to great astonishment." Coulombe-Bégin's works have been exhibited and collected worldwide, including Canada, the United States, Europe, South America, and Australia. Oregon Trail, Original Painting
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
Artist Nancy Merkle shares that this painting was inspired by an adventure in rural Oregon. A small trail in the backcountry reveals a forest of pine and fir trees among rolling hills. Crisp light warms the golden hillside and pulls the viewer deeper into the scene.

About the Artist
Nancy Merkle's process begins with a glimpse of color, a flicker of light, a pattern, or a texture. Elements swirl in her mind for hours, sometimes days, sometimes weeks before a design clicks and is transferred to canvas. With the canvas in front of her, she works intuitively -- a mark here, a mark there, a little touch of color, a bit of texture -- until she is satisfied and declares the work finished. Currently Nancy's work leans toward abstraction; she doesn't paint the world as it is, but as she wishes it were. Bold colors and loose brush strokes are her goal. When she's not making art, Nancy travels the Pacific Coast with a bicycle strapped to the car and "curiosity in my back pocket."
