Artist Onelio Marrero shows an endearing image of his granddaughter playing with a Lite-Brite—a toy first popularized in the late 1960s. As he paints her quietly playing, the image of Sargent's work, "The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit," comes to mind. Onelio adds shafts of sunlight streaming in from the edges of the shaded windows of the room. The bright rays add a touch of drama to the serene indoor setting.

About the Artist
Artist Onelio Marrero paints impressionist scenes of everyday life. Whether he captures the romanticism of New York City or the soothing quiet of a rippling pond, he infuses each piece with the visual magic of the moment.
