This painting depicts one of the paths at the Glendalough Monastery in Ireland. Artist Onelio Marrero painted this piece after visiting the area and walking through its lush grounds on an overcast day. The ancient monastery features ruins and stone walls that appear to be losing the battle with nature, reclaiming its right of way. The energetic brushwork and palette knife technique capture the dynamic beauty of the scene.
