A lovely group of waterlilies flourishing near a ripple of shallow water enchanted artist Onelio Marrero. He regards himself as an avid observer of nature. He constantly looks at the world around him with curiosity and an artistic eye. "As soon as the sun rises, I am ready for the visual nuances the day has in store," says Onelio. "This painting is a result of that inquisitiveness. A nearby pond supplied this striking image that I pursued with the desire to convey the beauty of blooming waterlilies."

Onelio Marrero paints city scenes of everyday life. In an impressionistic style he captures the romanticism of New York City, the picturesque fountains in Central Park and the wet city streets after a rainy afternoon.
