About the Item
From the Amphora series that came to be known as the Confetti Decor; a delightfully petite vase featuring cobalt underglaze painting with large crackling that reveals spots of green, orange, and pink, and thick threads of gold to compliment the hourglass form. Stamped Amphora in the base, and numbered. Published: Scott, "Ceramics from the House of Amphora 1890 - 1915", 2004, p. 172.
Riessner, Stellmacher and Kessel (RStK), later known as Amphora, began producing luxury ceramic objects in Turn-Teplitz, Austria in 1892. With the help of well-established ceramicist Alfred Stellmacher, his son and sons-in-law established the Riessner, Stellmacher and Kessel factory, which would produce some of the most highly collected porcelain objects of the 20th century.
