Artist Comments
"I recently lost my best friend of 18 years who looked just like this little guy," artist Tom Manziano shares. "He used to help me solve and create many of the paintings I've done over the years. And though this painting was done while he was around it's now a memorial to him and all of the little guys and girls of his ilk. Thanks for being so beautiful!"
About the Artist
Artist Tom Manziano transports us to delightful moments in Florida with his vivid coastal and golf inspired paintings. As a retired member of the Professional Golfers' Association, as well as a self-taught artist, Tom found a way to unite his passions with the goal of making people smile. "In my mid-forties, I decided to follow my passion for art and eagerly began pursuing a second career as an artist," explains Tom. "My paintings all share an emphasis on rich and vibrant color, fine brushwork, strong light and shadow." Tom enjoys listening to soft music, including Father John Misty, The Growlers and Arvo Part to inspire his creative process. In his free time, he golfs, plays guitar, writes and hikes, along with other health conscious activities. Tom regularly exhibits his artwork in Florida.

- To Be Alive Beneath Cherry Blossoms, Original PaintingBy Jennifer RossLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
Artist Jennifer Ross paints a portrait of a bay horse in an orchard of flowering cherry trees. The majestic equine frolics under the blooms of spring. Cool blue terrain envelopes the background, giving the painting a sense of peace and composure. She bases the title on the Japanese haiku by Kobayashi Issa. The entire poem reads "What a strange thing! To be alive beneath cherry blossoms."About the Artist
Artist Jennifer Ross creates intimate portraits of birds, nests and horses. Jennifer grew up surrounded by the art of her mother and grandfather. Her attempt to follow in their footsteps presented detours, however, and she ended up working in art galleries selling other's work. But her desire to paint continued to grow throughout the years. In 2008, a gift certificate...Category21st Century and Contemporary Abstract Impressionist More Art

- Colt Stare, Original PaintingLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
Artist Heather Foster paints a pair of horses along a road that leads to the Galisteo Dam in New Mexico. "The light was amazing at that time of day," recalls Heather. She combines hues that accentuate the cool shadows and warm colors that were quickly fading with the sun. Masterful plays of shadow and light rule this outback acrylic piece.About the Artist
Artist Heather Foster captures an enduring image of the West. She paints the dramatic landscapes and stalwart animals she encounters on her adventures to ranches and rodeos. Heather says she has always known she wanted to be an artist. As a child, she spent her weekends and summers riding the bus into Philadelphia to attend art classes at Philadelphia College of Art, Moore College of Art, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Over the years, she's moved around the country quite a bit and done many jobs - everything from driving a pedicab (a giant tricycle that transports passengers) to art restoration and conservation (for one project, she unstretched and then restretched a $17 million painting that would not fit through the door of the buyer's house). The one constant though, no matter where she lived or what side jobs she held, she always made space and time to paint. Today, she works from a home studio in Santa Fe...Category21st Century and Contemporary Abstract Impressionist More Art

- StolidBy Matt FlintLocated in Denver, COMy paintings are of animals, plants, and landscapes seen through a moment of shifting focus. I paint the way I explore the rugged mountains by my house, always pushing to see what is over the next hill, searching for the unexpected. I begin my paintings without a plan. No preliminary sketches are made; every thought is worked out directly on the canvas. Artifacts of the creative process can be seen in the rich textures, worked surfaces, and veiled light qualities created by working and reworking the piece. As one image comes into focus another is fading away, retaining a piece of the previous while hinting at what might come next. The result of my search...Category
