About the Item

"Egyptian Scene" is a cotton textile created by an unknown Egyptian artist around 1925. This textile depicts a bull on an offering table before the Egyptian god Ra. This god was often depicted with a falcon's head and an adornment that looked like the sun. Ra was a central deity in Egyptian religion, and the offering depicted for him in this tapestry is one way Egyptian people tried to ensure their place in the afterlife. 17 1/2" x 16 1/4" art 27 3/4" x 27 1/4" frame
