About the Item

This is a Autograph Postcard Signed by Virgilio Guzzi, addressed to Silvio Perina, the director of the C.I.M, Roman warehouses. Rome, Christmas 1977. In Italian. Very good condition, with usual aging signs (a visible foxing on he margins). Perfectly readable. In the front, a color reproduction of "Madonna della Pera Tagliata" by Dürer. On the back, Autograph notes of good wishes for Christmas by the Italian artist to the organizer of his exhibitions at the C.I.M warehouses. Written one year before the artist's death. Virgilio Guzzi (Molfetta, December 23rd, 1902 - Rome, November 9th, 1978). Exponent of the Roman School, Virgilio Guzzi was president of the Academy of San Luca from 1974 to 1976. Critic of the periodical Il Tempo, he was a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. He has been part of numerous impromptu painting commissions.
