ABECEDA is an original modern Rare Book written by Vítezslav Nezval (Prague, 26 May 1900 – 6 April 1958) and illustrated by Karel Teige (13 December 1900 – 1 October 1951) in 1926. Original Edition. 2000 copies. Published by J.Otto, Praha. Format: in 4°. The dimensions and the weight of the book are indicative. The artwork, considered a landmark achievement in European Modernism, includes 60 pages with 25 full page photographs by Karel Paspa on Milca Mayerrova. The graphic project has been created by Karel Teige. Mint conditions. Karel Teige (13 December 1900 – 1 October 1951) was a Czech modernist avant-garde artist, writer, critic and one of the most important figures of the 1920s and 1930s movement. He was a member of the Devetsil (Butterbur) movement in the 1920s and also worked as an editor and graphic designer for Devetsil's monthly magazine ReD (Revue Devetsilu). One of his major works on architecture theory is The Minimum Dwelling (1932). Vítezslav Nezval (Prague, 26 May 1900 – 6 April 1958) was one of the most prolific avant-garde Czech writers in the first half of the twentieth century and a co-founder of the Surrealist movement in Czechoslovakia.
