About the Item
Rapid marks of white, gold and cerise form a cloud that hovers on an indigo ground in this luminous painting by Alice Teichert. Titled Nocturne, French for nocturnal, the work refers to a musical composition that is evocative of the night. The artist has applied layers of translucent acrylic pigment to create depth and glowing light in a night sky.
Teichert studied music, philosophy, visual poetry, visual arts and printmaking in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 30 solo exhibitions in France, NY, Canada, Switzerland and Australia. Teichert’s paintings are held in many public, corporate and private collections worldwide.
