About the Item
An abstract paining Rosalina, created by contemporary artist Anna Taganzeva-Kobzeva in 2019, looks like a supernatural sign, scratched by a mystical creature. The frightening mysticism of it is common for Anna's works - in one of the interviews she said: "I work with eeriness - eeriness that frightens. But works in art do not frighten viewers, they only lead, like silence in horror movies - when you know that something will happen, but you don't yet know what. This creates a kind of presence of silence. Intuitively, I strive to bring my works to this theme."
Anna Taganzeva-Kobzeva`s artistic practice is focused on the intersection of the archaic and man-made environment, offering a multi-faceted view of the 21st century New Mythology. Inspired by the history of her family, knowledge of traditional healing and shamanism, that was inherited through generations, Anna uses hieroglyphs, runes, cuneiform, Nabatean writing and transforms archaic symbols with modern science and technology.
