About the Item
Abstract. Philosophical. Colorful.
This piece flew together. The brushstrokes nearly flew from my hand to the Board. The colors demanded to play. But a name just did not show up.
It felt done, but they are never done until a name shows up. Sometimes the name signals the work is done, while on rare occasion it starts with a name. This was a no-name piece of wood for a long time... well, a few days anyway.
Then as I looked it during one 'conversation' we had I felt myself inhale deeply. The colors seemed to inhale with me. Then my Buddhist studies and training helped me feel the rest of the name.
Some have looked at this and seen the cosmos, universe, space itself. Expansion and contraction in a pulsating rhythm with the breath. Life itself, as we know it, here on this third rock from the sun.
