This drawing by Austin Reavis is from a series of abstract works that build lines and forms, suggestive of construction elements, as a foreground to chance-based material interactions happening in the background. These fantastical constructions are reminiscent of scaffolding, either being erected in response to or slowly being degraded by a wash of chaos that looms just behind them. Borrowing also their color pallet from fluorescent building equipment, the works ride a fine line between the figurative and the abstract.
