About the Item
This large horizontal painting plays with four partitions, four vertical strips alternating angels and clouds. The figures blend and harmonize in the same aerial movement through the graphics and light, merging into a colorful unity. The title captures this dreamlike fusion. Two thin vertical strips in gradient break through the cloud surface, evoking the decomposition of light or a rainbow. They contrast in intensity with the subtle variations of yellows, blues, and pinks, flattening the space.
Titled "Nuange-Color", this original paiting is framed with wooden slats all around.
Béatrice Bescond is a French artist. Mostly influenced by Pavel Filonov, Henri Michaux and François Rouan, and inspired by Gaston Bachelard, Carl Gustav Jung and mythology, she likes to question founding myths and archetypal figures in a joint process of figuration and disfiguration.
