Series statement:
Name: “We are as we should be…”
People and their stories inspire me, and I paint them large as they should be, in bold abstract shapes and bright colors. By using the simple material, acrylic and spray paint on the canvas, I am simplifying the narrative. These are not portraits of specific people, although each piece carries a real name. These are the portraits of time and space we have to create for each other to break small talk, surface level communication and free ourselves to give more.
The original installation of large paintings through the windows on the Château Orquevoux represents us. Artists who came here to bond, to laugh and cry together. To create and inspire each other. To push the limits of and with our art. We all look into the world through our own windows. Our own stories. Our own works. So let us share, let us inspire. To give. More. love.
