About the Item
I was working at the Palm Restaurant in Dallas. I got to know a lot of radio personalities and people in the music industry. One day someone from the 94.5 The Edge said they were looking for some artwork for their upcoming EdgeFest. I came up with a few designs and this was a concept to elaborate on the design that was chosen for the commission . This one with the Tree design (save the trees) and incorporated the porpoise, which was under a lot of heat back then, and then I added a little red, white, and blue to be patriotic. “Plant a Tree” was popular in the nineties so that was fitting . I took the tree and incorporated artwork around it to block out a frame in case The Edge needed to fill a back of a T - shirt. The sun and the moon are fun, and the 39 represents the mass suicide of 1997 by the religious cult that believed they would enter an alien spacecraft hidden behind the Hale - Bopp comet. This concept of the art was never used for EdgeFest 97, only the tree itself was used in a slightly different design.
