About the Item
"This is the sixth piece in the 'Unknown Steps' series where I concentrated on creating compositions constructed off of an obtuse angle. In this piece, that focus is the line starting in the lower right corner that reaches up and left before intersecting the blue and aqua fields and turning to intersect the horizon line of the composition. The other lines were then arranged as an extension of that core structure. Every field was composed of multiple translucent layers resulting in complex depth and visual texture." -- Bryan Boone

Bryan Boone
Bryan Boone is an Oklahoma-based artist and designer currently living in Kansas City, MO. Primarily self-taught, his abstract and geometric works are centered in the built environment and meditate on architecture, infrastructure and urban landscapes. Boone describes his creative methodology as iterative and process-driven. He often begins with a conceptual core for a new series, developing a design system first and building and iterating on that design across individual compositions. Boone has several public and institutional works including installations and murals in and around the Oklahoma City area. These include Fowler Volkswagen, Kimray Inc., Francis Tuttle, and Midtown Oklahoma City. He is also an educator, most recently as a Studio School instructor at Oklahoma Contemporary teaching Adobe Illustrator.
