Bryan Boone
'Decision Drift 3.1, ' by Bryan Boone, Acrylic on Panel Painting

2020

About the Item

This 12"x12" square acrylic on panel painting by Bryan Boone is the sixth in a series of three major designs. Decision Drift 3.1 is the first iteration in the Decision Drift 3 set. "I was interested in constraining the design parameters across a series of iterative paintings. For this piece and the other five paintings, the focus is the diagonal line bifurcating the orange fields and separating the aqua and blue fields. The line shifts in location along the horizon line across the five designs, resulting in a kind of frame-by-frame motion when viewed together."--Bryan Boone Bryan Boone is an abstract artist and multidisciplinary designer living and working in Kansas City, MO. Born in Oklahoma in 1980, Boone has been captivated by architecture and the landscapes of our built environment from early in life. His work meditates on form and structure, contrasting hard edge, geometric design with organic layered effects, and subtle textures. By varying opacity, gloss, and grain, Boone creates dimensionality and shifting light and color effects in his paintings.
