About the Item
C. Gregory Gummersall's abstract paintings can best be described as visual music. Some are soft and soothing while others are vibrant and demand vour attention with their cryptic markings. It's not surprising Greg has been compared to Robert Rauschenberg and Cy Twombly, but he didn't set out to become a painter. Instead, the Idaho native was an aspiring rancher before he realized working as a cowboy wasn't going to help him achieve his dream of owning his own ranch. Instead, he set up shop in California and became an accomplished painter with exhibitions in galleries and museums around the world. In the late 1990s, his painting career helped him achieve his dream of owning a ranch. Today, Greg and his wife, fine art photographer Jenny Gummersall, live on 80 acres in Colorado.
