About the Item
A vibrant and captivating abstract painting by Greek artist Constantin Karahalios featuring incredible texture and color. A custom frame presentation would be included in the price. I believe both black and natural wood would compliment this piece dependent on buyer taste and decor.
Constantin Karahalios was born in Tripoli in 1923. In 1943, he went to Athens to study at the School of Fine Arts with teachers G. Moralis and The. Silver (1947-1952). During the period 1957 - 1960 , he took mural courses and engraving in Ecole des Beaux Arts and the Ecole Estienne, Paris.
His paintings were textured with references to geometrical and archaic art. As a member of the movement of art actuel, enshrined in the international arena. Later, he created sculptures in wood and metal. The meeting with the famous art critic Pierre Restany pits to the movement Nouveaou Realisme (Neos Realism) and creates works based on the poetry of the everyday object, such as the work of the auction. His works are in major museums and galleries in Paris (Centre Pompitou), Lyon, Athens, New York, Turin, Milan, Tokyo, etc. Stokolmi.
In 1986, he was honored at the Grand Palais in Paris.
