Diego Ascencio
Diego Ascencio Fuentes was born in 1989 in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he currently lives and works. He graduated from the School of Architecture of the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO). Ascencio Fuentes's work starts from architecture as a physical and pictorial element and through this he explores color and time and how they are related, configured, reconfigured and transformed. His work explores the visual relationship of certain defined elements with their abstract counterpart, being a translation of what is built, considering color as a language. On the other hand, Ascencio Fuentes presents in his work, a way of stopping time and physically deforming it, usually lengthening specific moments, and creating a utopian idea in the permanence of memory, which he defines as ‘Chromatic Memories’.
