30"x40" oil on linen, signed on reverse by the artist. Emily Roz paints with a vibrant color palette, utilizing bold stripes of blue, violet and green fuzing into the figure's bikini. Roz incorporates optical illusions of depth and perspective to create an active composition that references op-art movements.
Emily Roz (b. 1972, New Haven, CT) is a New York based artist. She has had multiple solo exhibitions at Front Room Gallery in New York and a project space presentation at MULHERIN Toronto. Her work has been in group shows including: MULHERIN New York, Auxiliary Projects, and 31Grand, New York; Decatur Blue, Washington DC; NUDASHANK, Baltimore; articule, Montreal; Gardenfresh, Chicago; Franklin Street Works, Connecticut; and The Kohler Art Center, Wisconsin.
She received an MFA in Fiber from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BA from Hampshire College where she studied Art History, Literature and Weaving. Her work has been covered in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out New York, The Village Voice, The Washington Post, Joy Quarterly, W+G Williamsburg News + Art, Apollo Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, Two Coats of Paint and NewCity Chicago.

Emily Roz
Emily Roz was born in New Haven in 1972. She is a New York based artist. She has had multiple solo exhibitions at Front Room Gallery in New York and a project space presentation at Mulherin Toronto.
