I have been living near the ocean most of my life. No wonder my deepest passion is to make expressive seascape paintings. I only need to close my eyes to see, feel and smell the ocean.
About the Artist
Hilma Koelman has traveled the world, but always found herself coming back to the ocean. Her years living in Curacao, a tropical island in the Caribbean, provided endless inspiration for her art, from the deep turquoise of the water to the colorful buildings of the island. Now living in South Florida, Hilma uses her abstract paintings to express her passion and energy. She may go through states of happiness, struggling, or insecurity when she’s creating a work of art, but she always arrives at a feeling of satisfaction, at which point she knows the painting is finished.
