This piece was completed on several cozy nights during the ;polar vortex; in Chicago. This mood of being trapped a bit and feeling at peace with that gave this painting life. The lavender, pink, and gold hues give a peaceful and comforting feeling. Janet's stripes collection is a heavily textured, mixed media take on the abstract landscape. Her process involves stacking oil paint carefully into lines using knives, then blending, adding, and repositioning the paint around paper scrapes and other media. It is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas, with finished sides, and comes ready to hang.
