Jean Adele Wolff
Printemps (Springtime)

2022

About the Item

This painting was inspired by the many themes within my art. Duality is seen in the changing textures and colors, creating a strong sense of depth, concave to convex as well as dark to light. Emergence, another theme, occurs with each layer of paint. New forms start to emerge as if by magic, creating a sense of excitement and mystery. In this painting, I hope to evoke the colorful growth and blossoming of spring. Jean Wolff - Born 1947, Cleveland, Ohio Jean received her Bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin. She continued her studies in sculpture and painting at Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles, CA and the University of California, Los Angeles. Jean Wolff’s artwork has been exhibited in numerous galleries and owned in public and private collections throughout the United States. Representative venues include Gensler & Associates; Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery; Aaron Gallery, Washington, D.C.; Irvine College Gallery, Irvine, CA; Shidoni Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; University of Connecticut Invitation Sculpture Show; Concordia University, Irvine, CA; Bowers Museum, Santa Ana, CA; Social and Public Art Resources, Venice, CA; Fairmont Hotel, San Jose, CA; Marriott by Courtyard, Sherman Oaks, CA.
