JM Rizzi
Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1975, JM Rizzi also as JMR, discovered his love for art at an early age. Shaped by the raw energy of the city and following in the footsteps of the pioneers of street art, Rizzi pursued a degree in Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts, graduating in 1997. In the years that followed, he took to the streets, adding his colorful interpretations to the urban landscape. Establishing a strong name in both street art and fine art, JM Rizzi’s imagery has become iconic in his native New York City as well as Dallas, where he currently resides. With major commissioned projects around the globe, his work can be found in NYC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. He has been featured in various street art books and editorial publications such as The New York Times, The London Times, The Wall Street Journal, Elle Japan and Milk HK. He has lent his designs to collaborate with Nike, Emilio Pucci, Proenza Schouler, and Jimmy Choo. His paintings are both serious and sensual while never sacrificing the energy and fearlessness that he’s become known for.
- Urban Abstraction (ripped off posters) Italian Expressionist Painting on CanvasBy Andrea SpinelliLocated in Firenze, ITThe present work of art titled "Urban Abstraction (ripped off posters)" is part of a series of paintings that the artist composed in the 1980s and 1990s inspired by the observation of the urban reality of those years. The artist take the cue from his walks in Florence, both in the center and in the suburbs, and by the observation of billboards and posters scattered throughout the city. The mass of information, colors, messages and words were carried on the canvas with acrylic colors, ideally reconstructing the tears and overlaps of all the information and advertising contained on these huge sheets of paper that invade our cities. The geometric lines are overlaid with jagged lines, overlaps and color dripping and also the choice in the color palette, with different shades of white, gray, rose, orange red and blue helps in rendering the result of the tears and ripped paper. The result is a beautiful multicolored modern abstract canvas, both aesthetically and ethically, with many rich layers of color, texture and expression in which the artist leaves his own message. The painting is housed in a simple modern white lacquer wood frame. Andrea Spinelli...Category

Artist Bio: Chuck Close – (1940-2021) an American painter, artist and photographer born in Monroe, Washington. Early childhood illnesses including a neuromuscular condition, nephritis and dyslexia were compounded later in life by a condition known as prosopagnosia (face blindness), which may have inspired him to do portraits. Most of his early, large-format portraits are based on photographs, using photorealism or hyperrealism, of family and friends, often other artists. Close often painted abstract portraits of himself and others, which hang in collections internationally. Even though a catastrophic spinal artery collapse in 1988 left him severely paralyzed, he continued to paint inspired by artists like Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. Close's first solo exhibition, held in 1967 at the University of Massachusetts Art Gallery, Amherst, featured paintings, painted reliefs, and drawings based on photographs of record covers. Being much in the mainstream of pop art, a fragment of Close's portrait of singer-songwriter Paul Simon...Category
