Kaloust Guedel (born October 31, 1956) in Nicosia, Cyprus, is an American artist of Armenian descent. He is a self-educated artist and theorist. Guedel is known as the founder of the Excessivism movement. Guedel is an experimental artist who consistently refines his visual vocabulary. His work has been widely exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Tokyo Metropolitan, Art Museum, The National Art Center in Tokyo, Japan, the Nagasaki Fine Art Museum in Nagasaki, Japan, the Armenian Museum of America, the Busan Cultural Center in Seoul, South Korea, and Beijing GuanYin Art Street in Beijing, China, among many other venues. His works can be found in numerous collections, including The Charles Saatchi collection in London, the Contemporary Art Museum Yerevan in Armenia, and others. His work has been included and reviewed in publications such as The Huffington Post, New American Paintings, Eyes On Abstracts, and many others. In 2017, he was awarded the prestigious Who's Who in American Art award. Guedel's professional experiences include numerous curatorial works, including serving as a guest curator at Forest Lawn Museums for the exhibition "From Ararat to America: Armenian Contemporary Artists," as well as being a guest curator at H. Kazan Fine Arts and a co-curator at Brand Library Art Galleries for the exhibition "Man's Inhumanity To Men: Journey Out Of Darkness."
