About the Item
Katherine Borkowski-Byrne’s “Coloring Time” is a colorful abstract oil painting on canvas 30 x 24 x 1.5 inches with thick and thin spontaneous brushwork in saturated reds, blues, oranges and purples on a multi-colored background. This emotionally raw painting changes dramatically in different lighting and will continue to reveal surprising details. This work looks back to childhood and the wonder and magic found in a box of paints. “Coloring Time” is unframed with sides painted white and the signature on the reverse.
Katherine paints while listening to opera and translates the many layered-music into many-layered paintings. She is influenced by the art of the New York School of Abstract Expressionism with it’s focus on being in the moment and the use of fortunate accidents and experimental techniques. Katherine’s work is in many corporate and private collections. She is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
