About the Artist
Krispen Spencer’s artistic process is about more than putting paint to canvas. “Painting, for me, is not only a form of expression, but also one of transformation,” she says. Color is paramount in her dynamic drip paintings. Krispen developed her brushless technique of pouring fluid acrylics during her MFA studies at Texas Women’s University. She uses paint of varying viscosities to achieve different textures, letting the medium act on its own behalf. The tactile process celebrates the inherent physicality of paint and the poetic nature of serendipitous uncertainty. The artist’s colors dance across the canvas in fortuitous compositions that embody Krispen’s creative spirit.

- Floral Abstract, Abstract PaintingBy Julia HackerLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
Artist Julia Hacker displays enticing abstraction of floral forms that blend the elements of fauvist landscapes and naturalistic plein-air scenes. The harmony between organic shapes and the vibrant hues of magenta, orange, and white adds mystery to the jungle setting. The interplay of light and dark tones gives depth and a sense of allure to the composition.About the Artist
Julia works from a studio in her home that overlooks a wooded ravine and finds inspiration in the natural order of the universe. Her art draws from many sources of imagery, but consistently possesses a magical and ethereal quality. Whether the image depicts stylized snowfall, glistening flora, or a collaged figure, the work exudes a fleeting element of beauty that transcends reality. Julia primarily creates using painting or illustrated collage. When she paints, she foregoes sketching beforehand, instead allows emotion and intuition to drive the composition. Her collages are influenced by illustration techniques acquired from her Master’s degree in fashion design. Julia likes being able to switch between the two artistic methods, often working simultaneously on multiple projects to keep her creative inspiration fresh and constantly evolving.Words that describe this painting: organic shapes, plants, nature, abstract expressionism, leaves, floral, acrylicpaint, jungle, abstract, flora, abstract, flora, acrylic painting, orange
