2022

About the Item

Linda Clerget's abstract cosmic plant paintings are a journey through the universe and nature. With vibrant colors and clean shapes, these paintings transport you to a dreamlike world and invite you to contemplate. Inspired by the stars, galaxies and plants, these works of art combine the poetry of the cosmos with the serenity of nature to create a universe of their own. These abstract cosmic plant paintings are created in mixed media on canvas. Organic colors and shapes combine to create a sense of movement and depth, while textures and layers of paint add depth to each work. Cosmic elements are subtly incorporated to create a dreamlike atmosphere reminiscent of myths and legends. Linda Clerget is an internationally renowned artist with five years of experience and numerous exhibitions and art reviews to her credit. She has developed a personal technique for highlighting cosmic and vegetal elements. Linda Clerget's abstract cosmic plant paintings are a true hymn to nature and the universe, a call to contemplation, reflection and poetry. Critic of Jordan Baker about this body of artworks : Jordan Baker (b. 1981) is an artist and curator who lives and works in New York's Hudson Valley. Via Artpreneur "In a series of rapid, borderline frantic markings, Linda Clerget paints a scene in a forest, "which for the artist is a world of its own where she communicates with trees and spirits," says Clerget. Instead of giving us the illusion of a realistic forest, this painting barely seems to come together in a recognizable format. In fact, without the few final trees on the left, it would be an entirely abstract painting. So what does the artist want to see, if not the leaves, bushes and branches of the forest? Perhaps everything else: the sparkling feeling of communing with nature, the sense of disconnecting from technology, the heightened awareness of being in a space where nothing is made to conform to our comfort. Clerget shares with us a sparkling vitality of nature that is one of her inspirations." Jordan Baker, curator
