L’Outsider was born in 1984. He lives and works in Brittany. Yann Le Berre, alias L’Outsider, is initiated at the age of 17 to graffiti codes and techniques – he is fascinated by the freedom and energy of this practice that invests the urban space. His studies at a school named “Ecole Boulle” brought him to Paris in 2006. Although suffering from acute dyslexia, he has constantly worked with letters and words. Gradually, he develops a characteristic style shaped by architecture, graphic design, contemporary art and expanded by the diversity of cultures that inspire him. His relationship to graffiti evolves little by little and detaches from the letter thus revealing a daring transition to abstraction and constructivism. Very graphic artworks, often colorful, that hit the eye or pose an enigma, and which gradually intrude into the world of galleries. Resulting exhibitions in Paris, Zurich and other European cities. Nevertheless, he still adheres to the experimentation in public spaces, which relies mainly on the spontaneous action, the intuition and the specificity of the site.
