About the Item

Enter the realm of mystery and imagination with Luigi Profeta's captivating masterpiece, "La Città Perduta Di Atlantide." This original abstract painting, created with mixed media on canvas, beckons viewers to explore the enigmatic landscapes of a lost city beneath the waves. Profeta's skilled hand utilizes mixed media to craft a textured tapestry that unfolds across the canvas. Abstract representations of landscapes emerge, their forms suggesting the remnants of an ancient and mythical city submerged in the depths of the ocean. The textured surfaces invite tactile exploration, adding an immersive dimension to the visual experience. Against a deep blue background that mirrors the boundless depths of the sea, a golden light horizon emerges, hinting at the lost city's lingering splendor beneath the waves. The golden accents serve as a symbolic representation of hope and majesty, creating a mesmerizing contrast against the serene blue expanse. The carefully chosen color scheme of rich blues and radiant golds evokes a sense of mystique and wonder. The interplay of these colors, coupled with the textured landscapes and the golden horizon, transports viewers to a place of fantasy and contemplation, encouraging them to imagine the hidden wonders of a submerged metropolis. Luigi Profeta's signature graces the canvas, a testament to the artist's connection to the work and a mark of its authenticity. Ready to be displayed, "La Città Perduta Di Atlantide" is not merely a painting; it is an invitation to embark on a visual journey into the depths of imagination. For those eager to bring the allure of a lost city into their surroundings, this evocative piece is currently available for purchase at Signet Contemporary Art in Chelsea and online. Don't miss the chance to own a work of art that transcends the boundaries of the abstract, transporting the essence of a mythical world into your living space. Artist biography: Luigi Profeta was born on July 13, 1969, and he currently works and lives in Cormano in Milan, Italy. Luigi’s oeuvre is defined by an exploration into light, geometry and colour which is investigated through various mediums including painting, sculpture and photography. Developing a natural propensity towards art from a young age, Luigi achieves a perfect union between different modes of expression that he has long enjoyed and practiced in. In 1939, the artist opened a knitwear workshop with his wife, Rosella, where he created his first drawings and paintings. Eager to engage with his artistic potential more, and encouraged to continue by the master Alfonso Madaluni, he decided to close the knitwear workshop and devote himself exclusively to art. Not long after, Luigi has a successful solo show, his debut exhibition, which launches his professional journey in the art world. Influenced by artists such as Kandinsky, who demonstrated geometric and compositional rigor, his works are pictosculptures, carefully studied and meditated. The works conceal the artist’s soul between shapes and colours. A cathartic soul seeks to externalize his emotions through collective psychology, that is, to speak not only of himself but of each of us. Luigi usitilises his photography experience to collaborate with private laboratories and national photographers. He is offered various works on commission that allows him to continue to cultivate the dream of painting. In 2004, he begins providing photography and paint classes for artists who wish to learn new techniques. Over the years, this has become a daily activity. He performs demonstrations in schools and kindergartens, in the same years. In 2013, he founded the Artistic Cultural Center Click Art, where he is president and art director. In 2015 he founded the artistic movement Psicoavanguardia. He has to his credit more than 200 personal and collective exhibitions. His works of art are in international collections including in Albania, Armenia, Belgium, France, Greece, Germany, Italy, Massachusetts, Netherlands, Spain, Swiss, and Taiwan.
