Marc Foster Grant (American, b. 1947) is an artist from San Diego, CA who began showing his art at 13 years old. This led to becoming San Diego Museum’s Art Guild’s youngest member. He attended San Francisco State University in 1965 to study printmaking under John Ihle and Dennis Beal. Throughout college, Marc taught silk screening classes in his Potero Hill painting studio and worked at Museum West—an arm of New York Museum of Contemporary Crafts. Artist’s Statement:
I was born in Eagletown, Oklahoma to Southern Baptist parents, and my father was a preacher. We were two boys and six girls in the family. The most mundane things were magical and special to me. I liked to draw, color, make things, and plant things. I loved the woods and the earth, and watching storms with thunder and lightning.
We moved from Oklahoma when I was 11. In the late 1950s, I attended Oakland Technical High School where I met artist Sam Richardson...

Let Me Wrap My Dream - Contemporary Mixed Media Red + Green + Black + Grey
By Binay Sinha
Located in Gilroy, CA
"Let Me Wrap My Dream" is a contemporary artwork by Indian artist Binay Sinha. The imagery is a composition of many different textures, both artificial and natural. The bright red cloth is surrounded by shrubbery and an unknown manufactured texture. His surrealistic style captures the balance of flora & fauna, humanity, and city elements. Sinha's longing for the natural environment incorporates plants and natural textures into his works. This piece has a muted background with the central imagery vivid and colorful, commanding attention and consideration.
From the artist: "Migration for employment from rural to urban areas has emerged. The history of migration is probably as long as human existence itself. Although the nature of migration has changed over time, factors that influence immigrants’ mental well-being largely remain the same. Migration for employment from rural to urban areas has emerged mainly due to agrarian stress in almost every part of India. This has raised many questions for me about what constitutes home and family. Is home a gunny sack...
