Red, blue and teal pop art abstract painting by Houston, Texas artist Mario Humberto Kazaz. This painting depicts Alexander the Great of Macedon during the Battle of Granicus against a red and teal background. This painting also features several textual elements in the background, with the word “RODEO” in the forefront. Signed by the artist at the bottom right. Unframed but framing options are available.
Artist Biography: Mario Humberto Kazaz is a Mexican-born modernist pop artist. His art is driven by his interests in perception, movement, embodied experience, and feelings of self. He strives to make the concerns of art relevant to society at large. Art, for him, is a crucial means for turning thinking into doing in the world. Kazaz was born in 1984, in Monterrey, Mexico. He grew up in Texas and self-taught art that was later blended into a style that he developed from a graffiti movement he joined at an early age. He currently works from his studio in the Montrose area, a major art district in the city of Houston. Currently, he works in large-scale paintings that are inspired by the neo-culture of this new interconnected world of today.
