    By Mark Zimmermann
    Located in East Quogue, NY
Pink multicolor striped abstract painting by Mark Zimmermann - Acrylic and graphite on canvas in artist frame. Signed on back by the artist. Zimmermann clearly demonstrates his deftness of hand though labored bands of color, building and editing one band upon other, until the editing process renders compositions that combine both hard-edge and action-painting abstraction. In discussing this work, the editor and writer, Larry Qualls noted,“...a majestic landscape narrative... they illuminate the nature of painting itself. In a sense what these paintings do is bring a synthesis of the conceptual and the realistic; it is as if there is the conflux of two grand traditions: the purely abstract and the purely objective.” Mark Zimmermann has exhibited his paintings across the United States and abroad. His work is held in private and public collections such as JW Marriott Essex House...

  • "Maestro #4" - Acrylic and Graphite on Canvas, Framed
    By Joan Scheibel
    Located in West Hollywood, CA
Joan Scheibel works in layers, working from light to dark. She is often asked about her process which she feels is more than just a process but is a way of life. She sees people and things that move her in life, a shadow, a dance, a church or just everyday events. Scheibel takes these ideas and images and reimagines them on canvas. In her words, “Suddenly and finally, the image that grabbed me, is reconstituted to grab you. The universal eye.” Scheibel is a contemporary abstract painter currently living and working in Los Angeles. Scheibel received a full scholarship from the prestigious Otis/Parson College of Art and Design and would later study Illustration at Platt College of Design. Turning her attention inward for a more personal form of expression, Joan has pursued a fine art career for nearly a decade. "Maestro #4" Contemporary Abstract Art is an original work part of the "Maestro Series" incorporating acrylics and graphite on canvas...
