About the Item
(Note: sorry for what looks like a fold at the bottom; this is not a crease, it was pulled out of an old frame for photography and wouldn't lie flat for shooting but of course will be flat when behind glass as it will be in your frame.) I used to represent Mary Ann Wakeley when I had my gallery on Magazine Street in New Orleans, and I loved her work. I actually sold a couple of HUGE paintings on canvas by her at that time, and many, many of these smaller ones on paper. She has such a sure touch; her draftsmanship is exquisite and her color choices are always dead-on: here, mixing what would normally be a "sweet" pink with acidic yellows, black and reds. Painted with mixed media on heavy paper, ships cheaply rolled in a tube (and FREE while the shipping credit promo is going on!).
