About the Item

Doors of Perception artwork was was named after the book with the same title by Aldous Huxley written in 1954. It is an acrylic piece over a contoured base formed by a mix of plaster and emulsion, full of texture and depth. Mitch Lawton is a British artist, who found his love for contemporary art in his early 30s. Mitch draws inspiration from artists such as Warhol, Chihuly, Pollack, Mondrian, and Rothko. He is inspired to create art that he finds interesting, drawing inspiration from the world around him whilst using different techniques and components. Contemporary art can take many different forms and incorporate materials and textures. He uses oils, acrylics, as well as plaster, perspex and glass to create art that stands out.
