Barzakh series (2015)
The language of mythology and religion, Barzakh is what separates life after death and before resurrection. For others, it’s the grave. In geography, it is what separates the sweet rivers from the salty seas, without their mixing. Barzakh is the dream that separates sleep from vigilance; the soul that separates body from the mind; and, the human that separates existence from nothingness. If two things connect, then separation is not absolute. Barzakh allows transit, like a mirror between the body and its image.
Mohamed Monaiseer (b. Cairo, Egpyt 1989) gives body and form to immaterial phenomena with works of drawing and painting. He has exhibited in many galleries and culture spaces throughout Egypt, and was a prizewinner in the 25th Youth Salon at the Cairo Opera House. He has presented solo exhibitions at Gezira Art Center (2013) and Safarkhan Gallery (2014) in Cairo. In 2015, his work was featured in a group exhibition in Stockholm and a travelling exhibition in Europe and the US. Monaiseer earned his degree in Educational Art from Cairo University in 2010, and is currently completing his Master’s degree at the same university.

The trinity consists of Energy, Nature, and Source. Energy is located in the heart, where faith and belief originate. The Source is anything that creates: God, the mind, the sun. Nature is material, offering us the tools to make and destroy. The three principles connect, communicate and converse with one another to form the ecosystem in which the human being lives, breathes and works, dependent on the interplay between the elements. The trinity is the value of life. Mohamed Monaiseer (b. Cairo, Egpyt 1989) gives body and form to immaterial phenomena with works of drawing and painting. Influenced by her Alexandrian origins, her palette reflects vibrant tones of cheerful maritime blues, and coming from a scientific passion, she digests material in written or pictorial form before deconstructing and then reinventing them in her own artistic vision to find creative solutions for expressing her preoccupation with such concepts. Ghaidaa Ashraf Bio Born on 17/8/1994, artist Ghidaa Ashraf Abdel Hamid lives and works in her hometown of Alexandria. Ghidaa graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in painting in 2017, and during her studies she participated in various exhibitions internally and externally. Amongst her 55 painting exhibitions until now, Ghidaa’s graduation show was hosted by L’Atelier D’Alexandrie. In 2016, she joined for a yearlong spell at MASS Alexandria academy in a special educational program under artist Wael Shawky...Category
