Nikolaos Schizas
Barcelona based painter Nikolaos Schizas creates dynamic abstract paintings that radiate with vibrant splashes of color, and communicate a strong sense of movement and fluidity. He is inspired by a drive to explore unconscious feelings and repressed emotions.
Mixing acrylics, spray paint and resin, Schizas employs a range of methods, from spraying, pouring and dripping paint directly onto the canvas, to using a mixture of traditional brushes and untraditional tools, such as spatulas, to make sweeping, gestural marks.
A self-taught painter, he expresses through his work a natural and intuitive passion for the materiality of paint, and an instinctual appreciation for emotionally charged color relationships. His fresh and vibrant aesthetic position occupies a space between Abstract Expressionism, Surrealism and Pop, and seems to emanate from a dreamlike and mysterious realm.

- Ikkunann molecules (Abstract painting)By Philippe HalaburdaLocated in London, GBIkkunann molecules (Abstract painting) Acrylic and color tape on canvas - Unframed. Philippe Halaburda is a French artist who has coined the term Geographic Abstraction to describe his work. Through his use of color and lines, Halaburda creates sharp imaginary landscapes that visualize the interconnectedness of humans and their environments. Since moving to New York City in 2016, Halaburda’s work has been influenced by the city’s linear urban environment. He describes his current work as geographic abstraction or psychogeographic mapping, and sees his designs as translating human and non-human interactions and emotions into colorful, imagined landscapes. His work evokes the geometric constructions of Russian avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevich, and Halaburda has cited Piet Mondrian as an influence on his use of color. In 2019, Halaburda published his first art book entitled ‘Spatial representation of emotion’ about his work in New York since 2016. Halaburda also offers commissions and public window tape art, including a recent display for the Hyatt Regency Hotel...Category

- Extension - large, bright, colourful, geometric abstract acrylic on canvasBy Milly RistvedtLocated in Bloomfield, ONIn this dynamic new work by Milly Ritsvedt, bold vertical bands of pure colour run the length of the painting. As always, Ristvedt’s choice of colours in this hard-edged piece is masterful—turquoise, deep pink, blue and bright yellow. Art Critic Barry Lord (Art in America) declared that Ristvedt’s paintings were ‘more insistent than Bush, more consciously structured than Molinari.’ “The paintings of the past two or three years explore questions of form, colour and process that arise out of earlier works.” Milly Ristvedt Born in British Columbia, Ristvedt studied at the Vancouver School of Art (now the Emily Carr University) and had her first solo exhibit at the Carmen Lamanna Gallery in Toronto. In the late 1960s, Ristvedt shared a studio with famed Canadian painter Jack Bush, met art critic Clement Greenberg and was inspired by American painters Jules Olitiski...Category
