About the Item
Artist Comments
"The wind catches the waves and all is spontaneous," states artist Patricia Fabian. "It's the kind of sea after Labor Day in the soft summer. The shoreline settles into a freeing time where it takes back the ocean. The water is no longer filled with people swimming but with a cast of the wild and natural impulse to be the strength and will of Neptune."
About the Artist
Patricia’s soft and painterly scenes are a result of the artist’s careful selection of materials. Her layers of paint, whether in oil or acrylic, are thoughtfully premeditated depending on the effect she seeks to create. Patricia is also highly conscious of the tools she uses, averaging forty brushes per painting, in addition to using paper towels and found materials to manipulate the paint. Her subject matter is a reflection of the world around her. “I create what moves me on any given day,” says Patricia. “It is a joint process between me and the universe. I let the world around me speak through my canvas.”

- Blue Lake, Abstract PaintingBy Candice EisenfeldLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
"This painting was inspired by my travels through the U.S.," shares artist Candice Eisenfeld. She paints an ethereal landscape with a glowing field enclosed by an abyss of deep cool hues. "The blue abstract areas are finished with a smooth, glossy shine while the landscape area is not glossy."About the Artist
As an American exploring issues of identity, artist Candice Eisenfeld paints through the lens of the first American art movement, the Hudson River School. Rather than depicting a specific locale, Candice’s artwork evokes a sense of place. These "inner landscapes" are invented, and often reference photographs taken during travels in southern Appalachia and the Blue Ridge and Smokey Mountains. Whether real or imagined, her paintings are influenced by the Dutch Masters, Tonalists, and Chinese painting. Produced on a single wooden panel, the ethereal landscapes are often joined with segments of aqueous color fields which act as commentary for the landscapes, like the chorus in a Greek play. The crisp, hard edges separating the landscapes from the color fields command a sense of order in an otherwise fluid and painterly surface. With two or three sections of the panel competing for attention, the painting creates multiple focal points. Candice's art has been displayed in embassies in Namibia and Belarus, held in the collections of Norwest Bank and Northwest Airlines...Category21st Century and Contemporary Abstract Abstract Paintings
