Pierre-Antoine Menard combines different techniques assimilated with time and the exercise of his practice to question us about the veracity and poetry of reality. The accident is part of the game. It is indeed layer after layer that he reveals secrets, truths, which we will become aware of after really looking, see being lost in the meanders of his painting. Through his work, we go to meet our own questioning, the conscious, unconscious and subconscious part that makes the particularity of each.He plays with a multitude of symbols exploring the history of art and humanity, patterns through the ages, pure abstraction and then crowds of suffocating characters.He likes to imagine the viewer with the eye of a child who would penetrate his layers of paintings as one enters the ruins of an imaginary world, appropriating it to play alone or with others, for a minute or for hours.
