Pierre GASTAUD Searching for the blue elephant, 1959 Oil on canvas Signed 146 x 114 cm (57.5 x 44.9 inches) Pierre Gastaud (1920 - 2009) Pierre Gastaud lost his father, choirmaster at the Opéra de Nice, at nine, which forced him to work very young. At the age of eighteen, Pierre had already practiced many trades including butcher boy, but none really interested him. He is passionate about only one thing: drawing, which he practices every day.
