Miming - Abstract Expressionist Composition in Yellow, Red, and Black in Acrylic on Textured Paper
A dynamic abstract painting in stark black, yellow, and red shows a brown-haired person with dramatic blush and lipstick, by California-based artist, Ricardo de Silva (American/Brazil, 20th C). The person is facing left, eyes downcast, and two hands in two different colors guide the viewer's eyes to the striped edge, a separate piece of textured paper adhered to the front layer.
Unsigned, but was acquired with a collection of the artist's work.

From a collection of Ricardo de Silva's work and memorabilia. DeSilva was born in Brazil and grew up in Los Angeles. He was a gallery owner, first in Santa Barbara in the 1960's and 70's, then in San Jose in the 1980's. He was dedicated to promoting the work of talented upcoming artists, including Kogyo and Hasui Kiyochika, Robert Frame, Jim Stuckenberg, Alice Robertson Carr, Deborah Eve Alastra, Russell Kelly, and Diana Mark.
