White Tulips at Night in Oil on Canvas Dramatic floral painting by Rod Norman (American, b. 1947). Several white tulips are shown against a dark background. The flowers are somewhat abstracted, but still have layers of depth and highlights. The stems and leaves are a vibrant green. The background is dark grey and maroon, implying nighttime. Unsigned, but acquired with a collection of the artist's work. No frame. Canvas size: 12"H x 16"W Rod Norman (American, b. 1947) is an artist and art director from Oregon. He was the Creative Group Head, SVP for D'Arcy Macius Benton and Bowles in Ney York for ten years, transitioning to a full time career as a painter later on in life. Norman began painting at a young age, winning his first exhibition prize at eight years old. He first studied drawing and painting with Dr. Charles Deitz, the director of the local art museum in Ohio, and then at the Art Student's league in the evening classes while working as an executive at Benton and Bowles.
