Only Special to You is an original abstract painting by Sarah Foat. The bright turquoise, red and blue tones work together to create a bold landscape painting. Foat’s style means that there is always something new to see in this canvas. Sarah’s recent paintings are inspired by a piece of graffiti that I regularly walk past on the school-run – in particular the layers of previous graffiti tags, vivid colours and beautiful close up compositions.

Sarah Foat
Sarah Foat, artist, is available for sale online and in our art gallery at Wychwood Art. Sarah Foat graduated in 1998 from Bath Spa University College with a degree in Fine Art. I then ran my own art gallery for 10 years exhibiting and selling contemporary art and craft alongside my own work. Since returning to my artwork after becoming a mother, I am now pursuing my passion for abstract painting. My recent paintings are inspired by a piece of graffiti that I regularly walk past on the school-run - in particular the layers of previous graffiti tags, vivid colours and beautiful close up compositions. I use acrylics to explore textures and colours reminiscent of graffiti, with a continual process of applying and removing paint in order to reveal glimpses of previous layers. I enjoy experimenting with mark-making and investigating contrasts, not only with colour but also texture, tone, line and space.
