Summer Hope [2021] Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look Summer Hope is part of a series of paintings made in 2021 inspired by early morning walks on the fell landscape. Her expressive paintings are very much influenced by the idea of a new day representing a new beginning, a hopeful emotional moment. This searching for hope was undoubtedly a subconscious response to an extraordinary time and her paintings celebrate the joy and freedom of being in the landscape. Jill is inspired by the landscape of the North East and most of her work is based on an ancient mining landscape called Cockfield Fell where she walks nearly every day. Her atmospheric paintings are a result of her exploration of the interplay between what is seen and what is felt about the landscape. She uses elements of what she sees and combines these with her imagination to create her paintings.
