The devil holding the phone is taking a selfie with a Kozak he had led astray. The Kozak, beguiled by the woman reflected in the bottle of horilka (moonshine), is unaware that this encounter was orchestrated by the devil. In the foreground and background of the painting are various Ukrainian dishes and delicacies. They are the most realistic elements of the painting, suggesting that the painter wants to share his love for this food with the viewer.
